@superstition, also known as Dawn, Stitches, and the Queen of Hearts, is an optician named Keith in Burlington, NC.
Keith began playing Diplomacy during his college years in 2003 on a computer platform called DipBounced. He would play many great variants such as Ancient Mediterranean, Hundred, and Fall of the American Empire. Due to fraternity and scholastic commitments while being a useless forgetful young adult, Keith went on to be one of the lowest ranked players on the server due to consistent NMRs and eliminations. He would soon after quit a game he liked because he kept forgetting to turn in his moves.
On June 29, 2017, he installed the Conspiracy app on his phone. After many games and thanks to the invention of push notifications, Keith found out he was actually decent at this game. He went on to make friends though the app and soon became interested in designing his own variants.
While working on his 1862 Discord Server, someone from Nexus asked him to sign up for a tournament game. After scoring the first tournament’s solo with Austria, he was hooked. Soon after he would create a group called the “Stitched Hearts” which has cult-like status on Nexus. He uses this platform to teach others how to play his way of playing Diplomacy, which essentially boils down into genuinely bonding with people that he can later stab.
After an on again/off again relationship with Nexus, Keith reluctantly accepted a position as a Moderator. Soon thereafter, he staged a soft coup with a rival Italian group to become one of Nexus’ Administrators. Later, he resigned from the Nexus team, but he’ll probably be back.
